Vortixx are the primary inhabitants of Xia. They are tall, lean and powerful beings which wear black and silver armor. Their society is matriarchal, dominated by the female Vortixx. The male Vortixx are forced to work in the darkest and dirtiest locations and jobs, and are not allowed to leave the island. Every Vortixx must climb up "The Mountain" once in his or her lifetime. Those who come down alive are honored with superior jobs. Those who come down alone or have sacrificed their partners to the mountain simply for victory are praised for their ruthlessness and are deemed true Vortixx. One of the most famous Vortixx is Roodaka.
