Venom Eels were native to the waters of the Pit. These Rahi had a quick-acting venom that was delivered through their sharp fangs. They relied primarily on their sense of sight and, to a lesser extent, their hearing. Venom Eels were solid black to help them stay hidden and were covered in slime. They were easily attracted to any light or motion.
Many Venom Eels were part of Ehlek's underwater army. Ehlek used this army of eels in his preparations to attack the underwater city of Mahri Nui.
The Mask of Life once turned a venom eel into a giant venom eel to act as its guardian.
