Greatest Bionicle Ever

I started Bionicle in 2001, liked and became an expert until 2006, when I started to get bored. I completely fell from it in 2008, but pulled back, learned about it and seem to be a fan again.

Mah first Bionicle was McToran Jala. Then Kongu, (fact, someone got arrested in the McDonalds at the same time I first built him) and then Matoro. I dont know why I didnt get them all, but then I got Pohatu Mata. I thought his set was really screwed up, but then I got Lewa, Gali, Onua, Kopaka and Tahu. And then I cant remember the order anymore. But I always remember odd facts about Bionicle using the color code the my first Toa, Brown, Green, Blue, Black, White and Red. Now that Ive talked your ear off, lets do the rest of you.

Its time for, year reviews!

2001 was good, lacked plenty of sets compared to later years. What sucked was that the Toa's limbs didnt bend. I never got any Turaga either. Only in 2008 did I manage to build Turaga Matau from a friend's mass of pieces and stole him was allowed to take him. The McToran needed more parts, but I guess they were still better than the current McDonald toys. The Tarakava was probably the best set that year.

Dude, I was about 6, and I saw an ad for the new Bohrok, and for some reason, I had the suspicion that they were new vehicles for the Toa, since they had the same colors. The Bohrok's abilities to turn into sphere thing's were cool. Still no bendable legs, although longer legs would made the sets laughable... Aha, expect a pic coming here soon, maybe. I got only 3 Bohrok Va, and the 3rd was in like, 2004. Their Krana fell out a lot, but I liked how Lehvak Va's tools were Lego Katana's. The Bahrag are fun to make chew on banana's, but dont scare anyone when I run up to them with one, sadly. My Exo Toa has aged a bit. His limb's squak a lot, he's quite dusty, and his rocket blaster thing fires involuntarily. (I hope.) I havnt tried putting a new-age Toa in him, I should. *another pic might be coming* Ah, what other 02 titans? Oh right. Boxor. I screwed him up. I lost a few peices, and broke 2 of the Bohrok teeth near were Nuparu sits. At least I didn't lose him.

ITS THE BOHROK KAL, BASIC BOHROK WITH GREY PIECES AHAHA. Laem. The Bohrok were good models though, anyway. And now, Toa Nuva. Yay, the first ad I saw of them, they were all silloughetted against their Protodermis shell. Man, they looked weird. One of Onua's tools and Kopaka's shield were overlapping, so they looked like one tool. And then I later realized after seeing what they really looked like, Tahu wasnt in the front. Wtf. So then came the Rahkshi, whom Reidak still picks his large teeth with. The way their red eyes came in was kinda lame. I remember, the day after I got my first one, my babysitters car crashed. I really dont know why I remember things like this, but the good part is, those crazy bendable legs, and still in the period where the arms weren't legs and thus not too stupidly long. See Pohatu Rockoh to know, if you somehow have not noticed. And, then there was the classic episode of the Kraata eating the Toa Nuva's faces. I thought that was what you did with them, stupid Krana. Then, there is was, our lovable Makuta! (But, Im taking a leaf from Teridax's book and am now renaming myself "Human".) Then, I got my friends over, and lived the legend of Bionice with them. (With about 6 matoran, no Turaga, but the good part was that Makuta was there.) So then I got Takanuva, and to this day, Ussanui is oddly fun to build. Partly cause of the odd assortment of parts, like the Hau (I didnt know what it was about at the time), the Bohrok feet, the Gahlok tool, the Kohrok Kal tool and Lewa Nuva's tools. But now, all of Takanuva's inside gears are missing. Ahaha... my mom says that the Gukko bird looks like a mosquito. And Pewku was a pretty sweet set, with the legs moving and stuff.

2004, the year that began all the big confusing-ness of our Universe. Baisicly the beginning of the universe, since the rest of the Universe didnt exist in 2001, 2 and 3. The sets looked cool, and were cool. Nivawk, Krekka, Nidhiki, Toa and Matoran were all great sets. The Toa looked excellent with their armor, but their skimpy arms sucked. The Matoran looked cool, and even had the classic 2001 heads. Krekka is still a cool set to build, but now that Ive taken apart Ultimate Dume and tried to build him again, his Kanoka thing doesn't flip up right, his head is in the way. Kanoka, the first collectible weapon as well. They launchers need some imvrovements, after a while they eventually get stuck in a very open or closed postion, making it lame to try and fire a disk from. Ultimate Dume was a good Titan-Combiner as well. A 9/10 year.

And here come the ugly guys. Hordika, Rahaga and Sidorak. The Hordika failed in their gear mechanism, and their two arms being different was dumb. But, they're monsters, who cares? The Rahaga were too simple to build. I did like the Rahkshi heads and tools reappearing. Ah, the titans. These guys were awesome. Everything about them was cool. Perhaps Sidorak couldve looked better, but it was cool. I only ended up getting 2 Visorak, but they were neat... yeah, neat. The special edition Toa Hagah were the best sets this year, although I wouldve liked it if Norik got a different shape Kanohi.

HERE IT IS, BIONICLE'S FAVORITE YEAR, 2006. WHy is it their favorite? All the games, a new comic artist, all that merchandise, all for that one year. They had to've liked it for some reason, which is why I laughed at Jan 1st, 2007. Maybe they cancelled Binoicle cause 06 was over. But, the sets. Zaktan was my first, I think. He was neat. He was one of the guys to begin that new "all-in-one-shoulder-to-waist-piece-that-is-being-abused-nowadays". And his Tri Scissor :') But now his glow eyes' battery is dying, although I didnt use it much. Laem. Piruk, I once made a spider creature out of him, but I wasnt able to recreate it after I rebuilt Piruk. AND WHY, couldnt they have given him eyes? You need to be a Toa before you can see? So then, Kongu. Oh, man, he has the greatest face ever. Ahaha... but he has a decent body. Even if his arms are a little long. The 4th Zamor always falls off the top anyway. Oh yeah, I have Matoro too. Axonn and Brutaka were sweet. Axonn's features are a lil' too big. Brutaka is one of my fave sets. Umbra is cool too. Especially the out of place Rhotuka and Ruru and wheels.

TIME FOR THE KIDDY POOL. Ah, our ugly friends, the Barraki. And thus beginning the "models-with-the-same-foot-leg-arm-armor-and-body-pieces-era", although the Barraki had unique bodies and stuff, like Pridak's Toa Nuva limbs. Ehlek was fun to build. Defilak was an excellent box set. I couldnt figure out how he went together, for once with a box set. He couldve used some eyes, though. The Toa Mahri, had excessive packiging, I gotta say. Kongu was a strange set. But now the "mwtsflaaabp-era" began officially. His air tank was cool. I wish his Melee Weapon was inlcuded with him, like Nuparu's Aqua warblade. Seriously, how many tools does he need? They shouldve included it anyway. The Titans, had the same feet, over and over and over. Hydraxon, Gadunka, Nocturn. Hah, Ive figured out Bionicles fave year and their fave foot piece. Maxilo's set was one of the best, ever. With the multiple body parts that moved altogether.

Look, Makuta. They looked ok, but Lego really has to stop making new masks and reuse some others, and while they're at it, use them with a set with a different main color than before. So, they looked good. Nice weapons and stuff. Kanohi looked good. The Matoran however, suck. Come on, 11-13 pieces for each? SInce when is that Bionicle, when everything is set up already, all you get to use is the ball joints. And the 45 degree limb bend is really annyoing too. Their head pieces look quite stupid. Why can Lego just give them Toa Metru heads with some color eye filled things? Seriously, those big glowing heads are just weird. AND JUST TO PUSH MY RANT FURTHER, WHY IS LEGO ONLY USING THE TOA MATA FEET NOW FOR THESE MATORAN? But, I guess we'll move on. Now, the Phantoka Toa looked pretty epic. By the time I wanted to get Lewa, the stores got bored of Phantoka and moved to Mistika. Their masks just look too weird for me, but I would like to try a ghost blaster. But, as I've said before, the sets are re-using a lot of parts now. Off the top of my head, Rahkshi legs, Piraka legs, Inika legs, Toa Metru feet, Inika feet- but that's enough. I got the Swamp Strider for Haloween as a gift for some reason. It was cool to build, minus building the four legs. I wanted to get Toa Ignika cause he was... well, special. Cool Toa, although recycled and he looks like a hunchback with his head placement. His Skyboard is awesome, gotta love that thing. Then, I got Jetrax T9 and my first thought was: "Where the hell am I gonna put this when Im done?" and Im sure we've all thought that after getting one of the vehicles. So, I build it with my mom. That's a win set as well. The Makuta looks like a Toa with a deformed mask though. But, get this: the Makuta and Toa Ignika have almost the same parts: Toa Metru feet, Rahkshi legs, Inika leg armor, that hip joint, the big upper torso, and the head placement. That makes them pretty similar, but they're different colored, so...

And, Bara Magna. First up, Agori, with the damn Swamp matoran build-style. NOOOO
WIth those helmet things, you can see the glow heads a lot more now. Neat weapons though. The Glatorian have a big flaw when I first saw them. WHY DO THEY HAVE THOSE GLOW HEADS? DAMN IT WHY DIDNT THEY GET THE TOA METRU HEADS LIKE THE OTHER CANISTERS?
Otherwise, they're starting to reduce their recycling, and that is a good thing for once. :) Weird/cool/pretty new parts and mask things. Eek-To be continued
