|Tools and Abilities||Fire Shields, elemental fire abilities|
The original Bohrok, and by extention, Tahnok, were created by the Great Beings with the sole purpose to destroy any vegetation or structure on the island of Mata Nui. Eventually, other Tahnok were created by Av-Matoran who were destined to transform into Bohrok.A Tahnok, at one point, was exposed to a mutagenic substance, turning it into Tahnok-Kal.
After his initial defeat by the Toa Mata, Makuta Teridax was able to prematurely send out the signal needed to awaken the Bahrag from their sleep. Thus awakened, the Bahrag also woke up the Bohrok swarms. Takua wandered into the nest as well, and watched as the Bohrok began to awake, but escaped before the Tahnok could launch their Krana at him.
After being awoken, the Tahnok swarms then went around Mata Nui in their quest to clean the island. At one point, a swarm of Tahnok arrived in Po-Koro to destroy it. Hafu tried knocking over statues to keep the Bohrok out, but the swarm later broke through, forcing the village to evacuate. They were most commonly seen around Po-Koro and Ko-Koro.
The Tahnok were put to sleep after the Toa Mata combined their powers to imprison the Bahrag, and were temporarily reprogrammed to serve the Matoran. When the Bohrok-Kal awoke, Tahu Nuva led a portion of the swarm against Nuhvok-Kal, which used its gravity powers to send them into orbit. After the Bohrok-Kal were defeated, the remaining Bohrok returned to sleep.
They were later awakened by the Toa Nuva when they were doing a list of things Axonn gave them to do. They later cleansed the island of Mata Nui by destroying all vegetation on it. The Tahnok then returned to the Bohrok nest to sleep.
Personality and Traits
Tahnok were quick workers, with lightning fast reflexes. Despite their speed, they were still very methodical and knew the value of teamwork. When one of their team was hurt or in trouble, they would make sure it was safe before they continued their mission. While Bohrok were not naturally aggressive, the Tahnok were the least passive of the swarms. They were angered easily and if threatened, struck immediately. They tended to act impulsively and were not as calculating as some of the other swarms.
Powers and Equipment
The Tahnok were tied to the element of fire. By channeling this power through their Fire Shields, they could melt any substance.
