The Skakdi were a very brutal race living on the island of Zakaz. They were tall and powerful, wearing what appeared to be a permanent, bestial smile. They also had organic spines that extended from the back of their heads to the back of their arms, which ended in claws. The most well known Skakdi were the Piraka.

History
The Skakdi were once quite a peaceful race, but when Spiriah, the Makuta assigned to their home island visited Zakaz, he saw the potential for them becoming troops. He tampered with them (possibly under orders of the Brotherhood of Makuta), giving them many powers and abilities, so they could serve the Brotherhood of Makuta. He then left Zakaz and left some Visorak to watch over the island. But the Skakdi killed the Visorak, and started a war against each other, fighting over any three rocks put together. When he returned, half the population was fighting with the other half, so the Brotherhood put Zakaz under quarantine and forbid traveling on and off the island. Spiriah was later exiled from the Brotherhood for his failure.
Powers and Abilities
After the Skakdi were tampered with, they developed vision-based powers, such as heat vision and impact vision, and also elemental powers, but they could only be activated when two Skakdi used them together. Some Skakdi had additional abilities as well.

- It has been confirmed that female Skakdi exist, and that they are more vicious and destructive than males.

- A Skakdi that was banished to the Pit for some reason. Pridak wounded him and left him for the ocean predators.
- Irnakk (a Skakdi-like being of whom the leaders of Zakaz told tales to the rest of the Skakdi to keep them in line)
- A green fleshed Skakdi with a spiked club whom attacked Axonn.
- A mob of Skakdi buried under a building by Brutaka.
