The Rahi Nui was a mutant Rahi created by the Brotherhood of Makuta, and was given to the Dark Hunters as a gift.
It had the head of a Kane-Ra, the forelegs of a Tarakava, the body and hindlegs of a Muaka, the stinger of a Nui-Jaga, and the wings of a Nui-Rama. It was specifically bred to hunt Toa and feed on their Elemental Energy. When hit by elemental energy, it grew even bigger every time, much like to how a Kraawa reacted to physical blows.

History
The first Toa to come across the Rahi Nui was Lesovikk. He was able to defeat it. How he accomplished this is unknown.
Toa Metru
The Rahi Nui later fought the Toa Metru beneath Mata Nui. After a short, but intense, battle, the Rahi Nui managed to defeat all of the Toa Metru except Vakama and Nuju. The two Toa then were able to defeat the Rahi Nui by making its body's molecules drift apart. Before drifting apart, it was able to sting Toa Nokama, subjecting her to its fatal poison.
Toa Nuva
It later reappeared in the Place of Shadow on Mata Nui, but without its special powers. When the Toa Nuva faced the Rahi Nui, Turaga Vakama used his Kanohi Huna to lure the Rahi Nui into a wall, causing it to get stuck. It remains there to this day.
Abilities and Traits
The Rahi Nui combines elements from several Rahi species: the head of a Kane-Ra, the forelegs of a Tarakava, the body of a Muaka, the stinger of a Nui-Jaga, and enlarged wings from a Nui-Rama.
The Rahi Nui also possessed all eight of the Kanoka powers and fed on Elemental energy, making it invulnerable to elemental attacks.
