The phrase, or title, "Phantoka" comes from the Matoran language and stands for "Spirits of the Air".

The name was given to the Toa Nuva Lewa Nuva, Kopaka Nuva, and Pohatu Nuva, and Chirox, Vamprah, and Antroz by the Av-Matoran of Karda-Nui. Toa Ignika, Icarax and Mutran could also be categorized as Phantoka. The Toa all had Midak Skyblasters, while the Makuta had Tridax Pods and Shadow Leeches. The Toa Phantoka also had Adaptive Armor and mini Matoran connector hooks.

TriviaEdit

• This was the first canister set line to contain a mixture of both evil and good characters.
• It was also the first product line; that contained Toa, to contain no females in any set at all.
• Although Kopaka was second in command of the Toa Nuva; making him the leader of the Toa Phantoka, the poster and T.V commercials show Lewa to be the main character and focus of the line.
• All three Toa Phantoka were supposed to represent a vehicular mode of transport: Lewa - Jet, Pohatu - Helicopter, and Kopaka - Aeroplane.
