Gavla was a female Shadow Matoran, leader of the Shadow Matoran in Karda Nui.

[edit] The Invasion of Karda Nui
Gavla was formerly an Av-Matoran and was in the Universe core during the attack of the Brotherhood of Makuta. She was tending Scare Rahi with Tanma when Chirox hit her with a Shadow Leech, becoming the first Av-Matoran to have her light drained. Later, after the Makuta had been blinded by the use of the Ignika to revive Mata Nui, she was chosen by Vamprah to become his eyes and see for him, she can ride on Bitil's back also. She has fought alongside Vamprah many times since then in battles against the Toa Nuva and Av-Matoran. She was recently cured by a Klakk against her own will, she claimed that "The shadow was where she belonged." Gavla left with the other Av-Matoran to Metru Nui where the Toa would meet them after the completion of their mission in the core.

Gavla as a Shadow Matoran had the ability to fire bolts of Shadow energy, along with the power to disrupt her enemy's sense of balance when paired with Vamprah.

- Gavla was released in 2008 as one of the six Av-Matoran sets. Gavla can be attached to Vamprah's and Bitil's backs.
- Gavla was one of the first Matoran to have a unique mask (although some were recoloured).
- The amount of pieces that she comes with is 14.
