[edit] History

The Energized Protodermis originally originated from the Core of Spherus Magna. One day, however, some Energized Protodermis leaked up to the surface, where the villagers, Agori, discovered it. When they understood the power of the substance, the different tribes started warring each other over it led by their leaders, the Element Lords.

The war, known as the Core War eventually led to the event known as the Shattering, which resulted in Spherus Magna being split into several pieces, of which the biggest formed the planet Bara Magna.

But the Great Beings had found out that the Shattering might occur, and had in response to that knowledge created a 40 million feet high robot which housed the Matoran Universe. This robot was called Mata Nui, meaning Great Spirit in the language of the inhabitants. Mata Nui used Energized Protodermis as a power source, and so carried it away from Spherus Magna.

[edit] Powers

Energized Protodermis had the power to transform, or destroy, any object or creature it came into contact with, depending on the destiny of the one who came into contact with it.

[edit] Known Effects

  • Destroying any object on contact.
  • Transforming an object on contact, but only if said object is destined to transform.
  • Transforming a Kraata into a Rahkshi on contact.
  • Reverting the effect of Antidermis on contact.

[edit] Trivia

  • Energized Protodermis was actually not at all a type of usual Protodermis; Usual Protodermis was artificially made by the Great Beings after the discovery of Energized Protodermis.
  • Energized Protodermis was described as Mercury in the Mask of Light novelization.
