The Earthshock Drills were Whenua's Toa Tools that he used while he was a Toa Metru. They were able to control his power over Earth as well as spin at very high speeds, allowing him to dig his way through anything in a short time. They also produced an extremely high pitched hum, which was hard to listen to. When Whenua mutated into a Toa Hordika, the Earthshock Drills mutated into a pair of Thumpers. When he was turned into a Turaga, they transformed into the Drill of Onua.

In the Toa Metru Whenua set, the Drills could be fit together to one large, oval-shaped drill.
