Lego Bionicle:Rating System

From Lego Bionicle

Jump to: navigation, search

NOTE: Recently the rating system was rebooted; please be patient as everyone's rating is reset and everything gets set up again.

The Rating System is a system that gives each member a rating; this rating starts at 0 and can go up to 20 or down to -20. This way the admins can track who has been good and helpful to the website and who has a reputation for vandalism or misbehavior without having to scan their contributions.

When a new member joins, a rating template is added on a protected subpage of their userpage. This subpage is then transcribed onto their userpage so everyone can see their rating with one click.

The rating system is currently run by ToaAuserv.

[edit] How to Lose Points

Unfortunately, it is a lot easier to lose points then to gain them. The following offenses are punishable by point loss:

  • Vandalism: Vandalism is a vague term; basically anything bad from hostile behavior to (intentionally) adding false information could be considered vandalism. If the vandalism is major enough, you will lose 2 points.
  • Spoilers: Spoiling the most recent story before spoilers are allowed will cost you 2 points; intentionally posting these spoilers after the ban but without a spoiler warning will result in a 1-point loss. On the other hand, releasing leaked information such as the names or images of upcoming sets before LEGO has officially given this information is a serious offense and will result in an immediate 5-point loss (and thus, at least a 1-week block) regardless of whether or not you knew about the rule.
  • Disobeying an admin: While this isn't an offense listed in the rules, any time you consistently disobey warnings from an admin, you will begin to lose 1 point for each offense.

[edit] How to Gain Points

Gaining points requires a lot more work than losing points, but it is worth the effort. At the end of every day (or as soon as possible), ToaAuserv will tally up all of the edits made that day and judge which ones were "quality edits" (basically, something that contributed something of significant value to the wiki; not just reverting vandalism or correcting a typo). ToaAuserv will keep track of each editor's amount of quality edits. Every time the amount reaches 50, that user will gain a point. To reach 20 points, someone would need to lose no points and get 1000 quality edits.

Every 10 of the quick jobs on the To-Do List that is completed counts as one quality edit. Fixing a problem article or one of the articles on the current collaboration counts as 5 quality edits, regardless of how major the contribution was, since these are jobs that Bioniclepedia desperately needs done.

[edit] Events at certain point values

As your rating goes up or down, certain things will happen as you reach/pass certain point values.

  • -5: You receive a one-week block.
  • -10: You receive a one-month block.
  • -15: You receive a six-month block.
  • -20: You will be blocked infinitely.
  • 15: You will recieive the Super-editor award for your hard work and dedication to this site.
  • 20: You will receive rollback abilities (rollback is a helpful little button that lets you revert vandalism easier).
