Azibo was an Onu-Matoran of Mata Nui. He had returned to Metru Nui and was helping to rebuild it until the Staff of Artakha was used to repair the rest of the city.

On MNOG Azibo was the prospector in the Great Mine who found a sundial at the bottom of the Great Mine, which Takua found was another entrance to the Mangaia, after Azibo commanded him to take a message to Nixie. Nixie then gave Takua a gnomon she believed to be from the sundial. Nixie's theory was right, the gnomon fit. Takua then shone his lightstone over the gnomon towards four o'clock. A passage opened where the sundial had once been, and Takua saw a golden Hau at the bottom of the hole. Through mysterious circumstances, the Hau disappeared. Takua later used this passage to get to Mangaia.
