Akamai is the Toa Kaita of Valor, formed by Tahu, Onua, and Pohatu.

History

Akamai has only been formed once. When the Toa Mata went into Mangaia, they encountered the Manas, crab-like guardians of Makuta. They proved too hard to defeat separately, so the Toa fused with each other: Tahu, Onua, and Pohatu into Akamai, Gali, Lewa, and Kopaka into Wairuha. Upon entering Makuta's inner sanctum, the two Kaita were forcibly unfused as a result of Teridax's dark energy. Akamai wore the Kanohi Aki.

Akamai Nuva

If Tahu, Onua, and Pohatu Nuva fused, they would form Akamai Nuva. Although Akamai Nuva was never brought into being, he would have worn a Hau Nuva-shaped mask called the Aki Nuva. Also, when the Toa Nuva had no elemental powers he would have had no elemental powers.

He is now unable to be formed, as Tahu is a Toa Mata again.

Powers and Equipment

Akamai wore the Kanohi Aki, the Mask of Valor, which gave him the powers of Shielding, Strength, and Speed. He controls the elements of fire, stone, and earth. He carried a fire sword and a club and wore Feet Additions.

If Akamai Nuva were formed, he would wear the Aki Nuva, the Nuva Mask of Valor, which would provide enhanced shielding, speed, and strength.
